Steve Waldrop Music Award

 Steven Robert Waldrop, born August 3, 1952, Singer-Songwriter-Musician-Martial Artist who has taken the gospel message to thousands was diagnosed in December 1999,  with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). and passed away Oct. 18, 2004. 

Born into a musical family, his father Sisco played steel guitar for Tex Williams, Merle Travis, etc. who taught Steve the guitar. As a young man, he played base with ZZ Top, Captain Beef heart, and others.

Honorable discharge from the Army, National Guard, and Navy, In 1978 he married Susan E. They produced several Award Winning Albums, Television Shows, and Specials throughout Southern California which passed over 3 million homes, not including the other states they sent the television shows to.  They ministered in Jail over 8 years, and were appointed by their pastor; Licensed Evangelists by the Assembly of God International Fellowship of San Diego, CA.  They went on to assemble together Miracle Ministries, as Associates with Reverend Jim Williams and others, while Steve worked a regular job and Susan home schooled their two children, and worked.

8th Black Belt Degree Dan in Kenpo, Medium student in T'AI CHI CH'UAN, Black Belt in Escrima, a teacher for Chuck Norris's Brother's school in Weapons, Black Belt in Jeit Kun Doe, and had formed his own style and was writing his first Textbook on his original style just before he came out of remission the last time,   Chuck Norris said his style was so unique he purchased one form, and was awaiting Steve's first textbook to further his name in the orient as teacher. 

In Music, his unique out of the ordinary style of writing, awarded him 6 International Angel Awards, as well as his unique voice of 4 octaves. 

Steven was a guest on several Radio stations, his songs on rotation, and had articles written about him in several magazines including Charisma Magazine (August 1998, and February 2000).

He leaves behind widow of 27 years, Susan E. and one daughter, Priscilla Bo, and son, Adam Duane.  His Brother and Guitar player, Jimmy Waldrop (1954-2003) passed only one year before of a one year battle of cancer, 2003. 

Excellence is awarding annually beginning in 2006, three selected individuals to receive awards to continue the memory of the love for music and talent of Steve Waldrop.
